A Heart for Global Missions

Acts 1:6–8 (NASB95) — 6 So when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, “Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?” 7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority; 8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

With Global Missions, we must have passion for three things:

1. A passion to GRASP

    1. We tend to CARE for what we can CONTROL
    2. Grasping Global missions is about caring about what God cares about!
    3. Do we GRASP the size of the need?
    4. Do we GRASP the urgency of eternity?
    5. Do we GRASP that it's OUR CALLING?
    6. Do we GRASP that our generation is our responsibility?

2. A passion to GIVE

    1. The most significant way we can engage in world missions is to GIVE to world missions.
    2. On average, the Church is missing it with priorities.
      1. Only 2% of the western churches' monies go to global missions.
      2. Charities and Missions are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS

3. A passion to GO

    1. At some point, all of us should GO to the mission field
      1. It's good for your heart.
      2. It's good for your values.
      3. It's good for your family.
    2. We should WELCOME foreigners
      1. The mission field is right at our doorsteps
      2. If we are going to be an international ministry, we should welcome ALL NATIONS
    3. Some are called to give their life in a greater way!
