Hebrews 11:1-2 (NLT) - 1 Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see. 2 Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation.

Hebrews 11:6 (NLT) - And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

Faith is being CONVINCED.

Faith gains us a good SPIRITUAL REPUTATION.

Faith is the way to RECEIVE spiritual things.

Faith is how we please God.

• Believe He is.
• Believe He is a rewarder.

FAITH IS THE WAY TO RECEIVE EVERYTHING WITH GOD. WITHOUT IT, YOU WILL RECEIVE NOTHING.

Five Foundations of Faith for Every Believer

1. Faith in CREATION

• Hebrews 11:3 (NLT) - By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God's command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.
• Believing in creation produces humility.

2. Faith in the CROSS

• Hebrews 11:4 (NLT) - It was by faith that Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God than Cain did. Abel's offering gave evidence that he was a righteous man, and God showed his approval of his gifts. Although Abel is long dead, he still speaks to us by his example of faith.
• I believe the cross was a true historical event.
• I believe the cross is the centerpiece of human history.
• I believe that without the cross, humanity would be lost.
• I believe that without the cross, I would be totally lost.
• Believing in the cross produces gratitude.
  • It also produces repentance.

3. Faith in HEAVEN

• Hebrews 11:5 (NLT) - It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying-"he disappeared, because God took him." For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God.
• Believing in heaven produces hope.
  • It also produces detachment from earthly things.

4. Faith in JUDGMENT

• Hebrews 11:7 (NLT) - It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before. By his faith Noah condemned the rest of the world, and he received the righteousness that comes by faith.
• Believing in judgment produces the fear of God.

5. Faith in DIRECTION

• Hebrews 11:8 (NLT) - It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.
• Believing in direction produces action.
