I Am Strong

Pastor Jonathan Stockstill

Ephesians 3:20 NLT - Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

1. My strength is found in my IDENTITY.

  • Ephesians 3:6, 12 NLT - 6 And this is God's plan: Both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News share equally in the riches inherited by God's children. Both are part of the same body, and both enjoy the promise of blessings because they belong to Christ Jesus... . 12 Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God's presence.
  • My identity is chosen.
  • My identity is loved.
  • My identity is equal.

2. My strength is found in the SPIRIT.

  • Ephesians 3:16 NLT - I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.

3. My strength is found in my ROOTS.

  • Ephesians 3:17–19 NLT - 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
  • Where are your roots?
    • Put them in God's love.
    • Put them in faith (God's Word).
    • Put them in the river (God's presence).
    • Put them in the house of God (God's people).
  • Your roots are what you believe, the place where you put your greatest thought. It's what you are believing. If your roots go down into fear, it will produce terror. If your roots go into unforgiveness, it will produce bitterness. If your roots go into God's love, it will cast out ALL FEAR.
    • Whatever you fix your thoughts on will be where your roots grow.

Conclusion:

I am strong in HIM.

  • Ephesians 3:20 NLT - Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
  • 2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV - But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
