Luke 2:48-49 NKJV - 48 So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, "Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously." 49 And He said to them, "Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I MUST be about My Father's business?"

Four driving points that made Jesus say, "I MUST!"

1. Because I'm NOURISHED.

John 4:34 NLT - Then Jesus explained: "My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work."

When we do the will of God, there is a satisfaction that can't be compared to anything else. We are spiritually nourished when we fulfill God's will.

2. Because I'm IMITATING.

• John 5:19 NLT - So Jesus explained, "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does."
• Jesus was living His life by imitating His Father.
• We must live our lives by imitating the Son.
• Acts 10:38 NLT, emphasis added - And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

3. Because I'm LIMITED.

• John 9:4-5 NLT - 4 We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work. 5 But while I am here in the world, I am the light of the world.
• This world is NOT your final landing spot. You are here, your time is limited, you must accomplish the calling, the night is coming!

4. Because I'm ENTRUSTED.

• John 17:3-4 NLT - 3 And this is the way to have eternal life-to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. 4 I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.
• How do I know?
  • Do the REVEALED.
  • Learn the CONCEALED.
• Don't worry about the concealed until you have committed to do the revealed.
• When you begin to do the revealed, you will be close to the concealed!
• The concealed is given by the Holy Spirit.
  • 1 Corinthians 2:12 NLT - And we have received God's Spirit (not the world's spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.

John 20:21-22 NLT - 21 Again he said, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you." 22 Then he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit."
