The Prophets (Isaiah-Malachi) cover 17 books, 250 chapters, and make up 21 percent of the Bible.
There are two different kinds of prophecy in Scripture:
- Predictive: foretelling the future
- Didactic: dealing with moral, ethical, or theological truths
Facts about Isaiah:
- At 66 chapters, Isaiah is the longest prophetic book and second longest book in the Bible.
- Isaiah is dated nearly 700 years (701-681 BC) before Christ.
- Jesus fulfilled 129 of Isaiah's prophecies alone!
Isaiah 6:8 NLT: "Then I heard the Lord asking, 'Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?' I said, 'Here I am. Send me.'
John 12:41 NLT: "Isaiah was referring to Jesus when he said this, because he saw the future and spoke of the Messiah's glory."

- Will have a Galilean ministry (Isaiah 9:1,2)
