Everything God wanted to say to humanity, He said in Jesus Christ. By looking at who Jesus was to us, we can see exactly what God wants for us. In the next few weeks, we will study the overarching themes of Jesus' ministry and what it tells us about God's will for our lives.

Matthew 4:23-25 NLT - 23 Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. 24 News about him spread as far as Syria, and people soon began bringing to him all who were sick. And whatever their sickness or disease, or if they were demon possessed or epileptic or paralyzed-he healed them all. 25 Large crowds followed him wherever he went-people from Galilee, the Ten Towns, Jerusalem, from all over Judea, and from east of the Jordan River.

He healed them ALL:

• Matthew 8:16 NLT: "And he healed ALL the sick."
• Matthew 12:15 NLT: "He healed ALL the sick among them."
• Luke 6:19 NLT: "And he healed EVERYONE."

Five Reasons Jesus Heals

1. He is doing God's WILL.

• He said, "I am willing" (see Mark 1:40-42).

2. He PAID for it.

• Isaiah 53:5 NLT - But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.
• Numbers 21:9 NLT - So Moses made a snake out of bronze and attached it to a pole. Then anyone who was bitten by a snake could look at the bronze snake and be healed!

3. He is full of COMPASSION.

• When He saw the masses of sick people coming to Him (Matthew 14:14)
• When He saw the masses of hungry people (Mark 8:2)
• When He saw the blind (Matthew 9:27)
• When He saw the leper (Mark 1:41)
• When He saw the grieving widow (Luke 7:13)

4. He brings GLORY to God.

• John 9:3 NLT - "It was not because of his sins or his parents' sins," Jesus answered. "This happened so the power of God could be seen in him."
• John 11:4 NLT - But when Jesus heard about it he said, "Lazarus's sickness will not end in death. No, it happened for the glory of God so that the Son of God will receive glory from this."

5. He is our EXAMPLE.

• Mark 16:17-18 NLT - 17 These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: ... 18 They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.

How to Apply Healing

• Receive the Word.
• Guard the Word.
• Obey the Word.
