“I am the way, the TRUTH, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6 NKJV).

I. Jesus, our truth

• Jesus is the TRUTH; Satan is the LIAR. He deceived Adam and Eve by lying about God’s Word. Jesus came to expose Satan’s lies as “JESUS OUR TRUTH.”

II. The truth about FORGIVENESS (John 8:1–11 ESV)

• Satan TEMPTS you; then he TRAPS you.
  • Satan’s goal was not to restore her, but to destroy her. They never called her name. They didn’t arrest the man.
• What did JESUS, OUR TRUTH say about that? Instead of passing judgment on the woman, Jesus passed judgment on the judges.
  • “Let him who is without sin ... 
 be the first to throw a stone” (v. 7).
  • “Neither do I condemn you. Go, and ...
 sin no more” (v. 11).

III. The truth about ETERNITY (vv. 12–30 ESV)

• Satan lies about ETERNITY. He says that SIN is not real and ETERNITY is not real.
• What does JESUS, OUR TRUTH say about eternity?
  
  • “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (v. 12).
  • “Unless you believe I am he you will die in your sins” (v. 24).

IV. The truth about FREEDOM (vv. 31–41 ESV)

• Satan lies about FREEDOM and CHOICES. His lie is that freedom is a choice to do whatever you want to do. Any choice that is sinful is not freedom, but the worst kind of slavery.
• What does JESUS, OUR TRUTH say about freedom and choices?
  
  • “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin” (v. 34).
  • “You will know the TRUTH, and the truth will set you free” 
(v. 31).
  • “If the Son [Jesus] sets you free, you will be free indeed” 
(v. 36).

V. The truth about HUMANISM (vv. 42–47 ESV)

• Satan lies about the NATURE OF MAN. He says, “You are all children of God. All religions lead to God. Your basic nature is GOOD. All humans are awesome... .”
• What does JESUS, OUR TRUTH say about the nature of man?
  • “You are of YOUR FATHER THE DEVIL, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the TRUTH, because there is NO TRUTH in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I tell the TRUTH, you do not believe me. Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the TRUTH, why do you not believe me? Whoever is of God hears the words of God” 
(vv. 44–47).
  • Satan is a murderer, a liar, and the father of lies. HUMANISM (man is basically good) is a lie. DARWINISM (man is gradually improving) is a lie. ATHEISM (man is his own god, and there is no personal God) is a lie.
• Christ said, “For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” Pilate said to him, “WHAT IS TRUTH?” (John 18:37–38 ESV).
