1 Corinthians 4:20 NLT, emphasis added — For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God’s power.
Matthew 12:28 KJV: But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
Four Aspects of God’s Power:
1. MILITARY power for spiritual warfare
- Our captain — Jesus
- Joshua 5:14 NLT — “Neither one,” he replied. “I am the commander of the Lord’s army.” At this, Joshua fell with his face to the ground in reverence. “I am at your command,” Joshua said. “What do you want your servant to do?”
- We wouldn’t have an army if there wasn’t an ENEMY. It’s called the kingdom of darkness.
- It’s not just the angels involved in this fight—you are! The military is for PROTECTING, ADVANCING, GUARDING. All spiritual war is about TERRITORY.
- Satan wanted heaven and he lost.
- He wants earth, he wants nations, he wants cities, he wants sections of society, he wants your family, he wants you.
- All of God’s military is backed by His power and authority.
- How do we release this power?
When we pray and speak!
2. MIRACLE power for restoration
- God is wanting to redeem our brokenness.
- The key to understanding the miracles of God is RESTORATION.
- Acts 10:38 NLT — And you know that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. Then Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
- When the kingdom comes, miracles HAPPEN.
- Matthew 10:7–8 NLT — 7 Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near. 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!
- How do we release miracle power?
- Everyone that has the kingdom of God within
- LAYING HANDS ON THE SICK
- SPEAKING THE WORD OF FAITH
- THE Holy Spirit IS THE POWER.
3. Moral power for righteousness
- 2 Peter 1:3 NLT — By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
- This is a power to overcome!
- God’s kingdom doesn’t lose, so you will not lose.
- This is power to BREAK THE CHAINS.
- This is power to SAY NO.
- This is power to CHANGE HABITS and THINKING.
- God gives us empowering grace to overcome.
- True morality is an uphill battle that must be fought with the power of the Holy Spirit.
4. Management power for dominion
- He gives us the power to rule well.
- We were designed to rule, but under the power of God.
- He gave Solomon the power to rule wisely.
- He gave Israel the power to get wealth.
- Deuteronomy 8:18 NLT — Remember the Lord your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath.
No longer are we powerless. In the Kingdom of Darkness you are powerless, but in the Kingdom of God, you have all power!
