“For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.” Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.” (Galatians 3:10,13-14)
What are the Seven curses of the Law? (Deuteronomy 28)
- Mental illness—Confusion and frustration, madness, trembling heart and dread (v.20, 28).
- Pestilence and wasting disease, boils, fevers, inflammation and tumors (v.21-22), all the diseases of Egypt (v.27) and every other sickness and affliction not written in the book of the Law (v.60-61).
- Drought (v.23)—dry seasons and lost wages.
- Defeat (v.25)—Your enemies overcoming you.
- Family destruction (v.30)—financial robbery, broken marriages, wayward children, divided families.
- National deportation (v.36)—Breakup of a nation, control by enemy nations.
- Insect devastation (v.38)—Harvests ruined and plagues of insect populations.
These 15 blessings now BELONG TO YOU:
- High above (v.1)—Exalted position at the Father’s right hand in Christ. Eph. 1 calls it “far above.”
- Overtake you (v.2)— They will chase you down and catch you continually, “goodness and mercy following you.”
- In the city and the field (v.3)—That is, in the main town and the suburbs you are blessed.
- Family and reproductive blessings (v.4)—Blessed with family and generations for yourself and all your flocks.
- Food supply (v.5)—A BASKET was what you carried in your produce from the field. A BOWL was your bread, and cooking.
- Coming in and going out (v.6)—Your travel, your trips, your day’s work and your week’s work.
- Warfare and obstacles (v.7)—Victory in battle; all your enemies will flee seven ways before you.
- All that you undertake (v.8)—This is whatever you put your hand to, all your activities and purposes. God will work alongside you in everything you are working on.
- No poverty (v.9)—“No one lacking (Deuteronomy 15:4).
- Dread where you tread (v.10)—Fear of the Lord on all those who would target you as an enemy.
- Prosperity from God’s good treasury (v.11)—Rain and prosperity will follow you everywhere (Psalm 23:6)
- Lend and not borrow (v.12)—You will be a lending institution for Kingdom initiatives. “Out of the DEBT and NEED cycle and over into the DESIRE cycle and the GENEROSITY cycle.”
- Head and not the tail (v.13)—Not subservient to the system, the credit card companies, the government, the banking industry, or the medical world.
- Up and not down (v.14)—You will be above and not beneath, a continual rise to the top in every situation.
- Healing and health (Deuteronomy 7:15)—“And the LORD will take away from you ALL SICKNESS, and none of the EVIL DISEASES of Egypt, which you knew, will he inflict on you, but he will lay them on all who hate you.” “Christ has REDEEMED us from the “curse of the Law.” Disease and sickness were part of the written curse. When we are redeemed from it, healing and health are part of the blessing.
“And ought not this woman, a DAUGHTER OF ABRAHAM whom Satan bound for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?” (Luke 13:16)
Declaration:
“I am blessed and redeemed from the curse of the Law by the blood of Jesus. I am “high above” my enemies. God’s blessings overtake me. I am blessed in the city and in the country. I am blessed in my family and reproduction. I am blessed in my food supply. I am blessed coming in and going out. I am blessed in battles, and my enemies flee seven ways. I am blessed in all I undertake and refuse to live in lack. Everywhere I tread, my enemies are in dread. I am a lender and delivered from the borrowing cycle. I am the head and not the tail. I am up, and I’m not down. I am healed of all the evil diseases of Egypt, and I live in God’s health as a child of Abraham.”
