John 14:15–18 (NLT) — 15 “If you love me, obey my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. 17 He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. 18 No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you.

John 14:25–26 (NLT) — 25 I am telling you these things now while I am still with you. 26 But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.

John 15:26–27 (NLT) — 26 “But I will send you the Advocate—the Spirit of truth. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me. 27 And you must also testify about me because you have been with me from the beginning of my ministry. John 16:7–8 (NLT) — 7 But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. 8 And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.

1. He Sent Another Just Like Jesus

1. We must see the Holy Spirit as THE CONTINUATION OF JESUS.
2. Chirst’s goal was not to ghost his disciples, rather it was to fill them with the Holy Ghost. 
3. The New Testament is the the story of the Spirit of Christ filling every believer.

2. He Sent Someone to Stand With You

1. Greek word Parakletos - Para “With” Kletos “Called” - Literally called to stand with
   1. Advocate 
   2. Encourager
   3. Companion
   4. Counselor
2. We don’t rely on the Holy Spirit like we should. It’s not a question of if He is here, because He most assuredly is.

3. He Sent Someone Who Reveals and Teaches

1. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth
2. he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you
3. He will come to you from the Father and will testify all about me.
4. And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment.
