Joshua 10:16-19, 22-24 - 16 During the battle the five kings escaped and hid in a cave at Makkedah. 17 When Joshua heard that they had been found, 18 he issued this command: "Cover the opening of the cave with large rocks, and place guards at the entrance to keep the kings inside. 19 The rest of you continue chasing the enemy and cut them down from the rear. Don't give them a chance to get back to their towns, for the LORD your God has given you victory over them." 22 Then Joshua said, "Remove the rocks covering the opening of the cave, and bring the five kings to me." 23 So they brought the five kings out of the cave-the kings of Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, and Eglon. 24 When they brought them out, Joshua told the commanders of his army, "Come and put your feet on the kings' necks." And they did as they were told.

Romans 16:20 (NLT) - 20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. May the grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

Exposing Kings

1. King SATAN: The deceiver

• "I'll tempt them and defile them."
• Revelation 12:9 (NLT) - 9 This great dragon-the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, the one deceiving the whole world-was thrown down to the earth with all his angels.

2. King SIN: The enslaver

• "I'll bind them in chains, and they'll always be slaves."
• Genesis 4:7 (NLT) - 7 "You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master."

3. King PAST: The accuser

• "I'll make sure they never forget their failures."
• Revelation 12:10 (NLT) - 10 …For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth- the one who accuses them before our God day and night.

4. King DEATH: The executioner

• "I'll make sure they pay for all their sins with death."
• Romans 6:23 (NLT) - 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

5. King HELL: The separator

• "I'll keep them forever separated from God."
• Revelation 20:14 (NLT) - 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.

Defeating Kings

• Colossians 2:13-15 (NLT) - 13 You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.

God leads us to put our feet on these kings' necks and DECLARE:

• I am not deceived; I know the truth.
• I am not a slave; I am free.
• I am not guilty; I am righteous.
• I am not dead; I am alive.
• I am not separated; I am close.

Future Kings

Joshua 10:24-25 (NLT) - 24 When they brought them out, Joshua told the commanders of his army, "Come and put your feet on the kings' necks." And they did as they were told. 25 "Don't ever be afraid or discouraged," Joshua told his men. "Be strong and courageous, for the Lord is going to do this to all of your enemies."
