Luke 10:1–4 (NLT) — 1 The Lord now chose seventy-two other disciples and sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places he planned to visit. 2 These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields. 3 Now go, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves. 4 Don’t take any money with you, nor a traveler’s bag, nor an extra pair of sandals. And don’t stop to greet anyone on the road.

Luke 10:8–9 (NLT) — 8 “If you enter a town and it welcomes you, eat whatever is set before you. 9 Heal the sick, and tell them, ‘The Kingdom of God is near you now.’

Luke 10:16–17 (NLT) — 16 Then he said to the disciples, “Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God, who sent me.” 17 When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!”

Luke 10:18–20 (NLT) — 18 “Yes,” he told them, “I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning! 19 Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. 20 But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.”

1. The Joy of Being Chosen

1. He chooses those who are close.
2. He chooses those who are available.
3. He chooses the passionate - PRAY TO THE LORD OF THE HARVEST - Praying comes before Going.

2. The Joy of Trusting

1. Lambs among wolves - Trust him for protection.
2. No money, no suitcase, no extra shoes - Trust him for provision. 
3. No stopping along the road - Trust him for providence.

3. The Joy of Partnership

1. You are never going to walk this journey alone. One of the greatest joys of going on mission for God is that you experience his partnership! 
2. He gives you the Words.
   1. Matthew 10:19–20 (NLT) — 19 When you are arrested, don’t worry about how to respond or what to say. God will give you the right words at the right time. 20 For it is not you who will be speaking—it will be the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
3. He gives you the Power.
4. He gives you the Authority.

4. The Joy of a Mission Fulfilled

1. The disciples coming back HAPPY.
   1. They were HAPPY that it worked! - THIS THING WORKS!
   2. They were HAPPY to be victorious
   3. Jesus was joyful at their success! 
2. There is a DEEP sense of joy that comes from a successful mission.
   1. John 4:34 (NLT) — 34 Then Jesus explained: “My nourishment comes from doing the will of God, who sent me, and from finishing his work.
   2. Being used by God come with a unique sense of purpose and joy that nothing else can fulfill.
