Thy Kingdom Come

1. It is an ANCIENT kingdom with an eternal King.
- We have to recognize that the kingdom of God is from everlasting to everlasting.
- Psalm 145:13 ESV: “Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures throughout all generations.”
- Matthew 25:34 NLT: “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world.’”
- God has always had a kingdom.
- God prepared a kingdom for us on earth that He intended for us to rule and reign over.
- Adam lost the crown.
- Satan illegally usurped and took the crown.
- Jesus came and took back the crown.
- The kingdom of God has always been and it will always be.
- We are receiving a kingdom that is UNSHAKABLE!
2. It is a PRESENT kingdom with an indwelling King.
- Luke 17:20–21 NLT: “One day the Pharisees asked Jesus, ‘When will the Kingdom of God come?’ Jesus replied, ‘The Kingdom of God can’t be detected by visible signs. You won’t be able to say, “Here it is!” or “It’s over there!” For the Kingdom of God is already among you.’”
- You are an ambassador of the kingdom of God.
- Wherever you are, as an ambassador of God on the earth, you can manifest His will and power.
- This empowers you to give grace, mercy, love, healing, and deliverance.
- God’s Spirit inside of you is your connection to the kingdom of God.
3. It is a FUTURE kingdom with a coming King.
- The King is coming again!
- Daniel 7:13–14 NLT: “As my vision continued that night, I saw someone like a son of man coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient One and was led into his presence. He was given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that people of every race and nation and language would obey him. His rule is eternal—it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed.”
- Isaiah 9:6–7 NLT: “For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!”
- Because of this reality . . .
- We preach the gospel of the kingdom.
- We are filled with radiant joy instead of the depression of the world.
- We are filled with hope that we are going to live forever.
- We are going to inherit the kingdom with Christ.
- We are not going to live in heaven forever—we are going to live on a new earth forever!
- Revelation 21:2 NLT: “And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.”
