The power of a PROMISE.
- Hebrews 10:22 — “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for HE WOULD PROMISED IS FAITHFUL.”
- God cannot lie. When He makes a promise, it is intended to be kept. You can trust Him, His Word cannot fail.
- 2 Corinthians 2:18-20 — “As surely as God is faithful, our word to you has not been Yes and No. For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we proclaimed among you, Silvanus and Timothy and I, was not Yes and No, but in him it is always Yes. For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.”
- Isaiah 55:11—“So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”
The Word in the Book of Acts
- SALVATION through the Word
- Acts 8:35 - “Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus.”
- Acts 10:44 - “While Peter was still saying these things, the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word.” (Reinhard Bonnke preaching in Africa)
- HEALING through the Word
- Acts 14:3 - “So they remained for a long time, speaking boldly for the Lord, who bore witness to the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands”
- Acts 14:8 - “Now at Lystra there was a man sitting who could not use his feet. He was crippled from birth and had never walked. He listened to Paul speaking. And Paul, looking intently at him and seeing that he had faith to be made well, said in a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet.” And he sprang up and began walking.”
- DELIVERANCE comes through the Word
- Acts 19:15 - “But the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?”
- Acts 19:19 - “And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the WORD OF THE LORD continued to increase and PREVAIL MIGHTILY.”
