Ten Toes of Victory

Bgroup Lesson Jul 06

Introduction:

The Bible speaks about feet as the beginning of faith. Your feet are what you “stand” on. “Having done all to stand, stand therefore.” When you go through a trial, a battle, your feet are what the devil fears the most.

Joshua 1:3 “Every place the sole of your foot will TREAD upon, I have given unto you.”

Genesis 13:17 “Arise, walk through the length and the breadth of the land, for I will give it to you.”

Joshua 10:24 “Come near, put your foot on the necks of these kings. Then they came near and put their feet on their necks. And Joshua said to them, “Do not be afraid or dismayed; be strong and courageous. For thus the LORD will do to all your enemies against whom you fight.”

Ten toes of victory in every battle

1. Luke 10:19—“Behold, I give unto you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the ability of the enemy. And nothing will by any means hurt you”

I have AUTHORITY over Satan’s ability. Jesus saw Satan fall like lightning. He is totally defeated. He said that we should not rejoice that demons are subject to us, but that our names are written in heaven.

Discussion Question:

How do you personally walk in the authority Jesus gave you over the enemy? What might be holding you back from fully using that authority?

2. Isaiah 43: 1-2—“When you pass through the waters, I WILL BE WITH YOU; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.”

The Lord is on my side. The three Hebrew children walked through the fire and were unharmed because Jesus was in the furnace.

Discussion Question:

Can you think of a time when you walked through a “fire” or deep waters and sensed God’s presence? How did His presence make a difference?

3. Isaiah 54:17—“No weapon formed against me will succeed.”

Every demonic weapon will fall apart. Even if Satan prepares financial, legal, physical weapons against you and your family, IT WILL NOT SUCCEED. Every tongue that rises against us in judgment, we will condemn it.

Discussion Question:

What “weapons” (challenges, attacks, lies) has the enemy tried to form against you recently—and how have you seen God render them powerless?

4. Colossians 2:15—“He DISARMED the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.”

Satan was totally defeated in the resurrection. Christ has stripped (“to strip the hide off an animal”) all rulers and authorities of their sham power.

Discussion Question:

What helps you stay confident in Christ’s victory when the enemy tries to act like he still has power over you?

5. James 4:7—“Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

Satan is terrified of a believer. Satan runs in terror when you resist him. In the Old Testament, the Bible says that our enemies will FLEE seven ways. Demons “TREMBLE” at the name of Jesus.

Discussion Question:

What does “resisting the devil” look like in practical terms for you? When have you seen the enemy flee as a result?

6. 1 John 2:14—“You are strong and the WORD OF GOD abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.”

Scripture is the sword Satan cannot overcome. Jesus used the Scripture to counter every false argument and lie of the enemy. Find verses that apply to your crisis and begin to speak them out of your mouth.

Discussion Question:

How do you personally use Scripture to fight spiritual battles? What is one verse you speak or stand on regularly? If you don’t have one, find one this week to learn and keep with you.

7. Revelation 12:11—“And they have conquered him by the BLOOD of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony”

I conquer Satan by the blood of the Lamb. Jesus’ blood speaks a better word: “redeemed.” We are redeemed, not with silver and gold but the precious blood of Christ.

Discussion Question: What is one testimony you have of victory in Christ that still gives you strength today? How has the blood of Jesus changed your life?

8. 1 John 4:4—“You are from God and have overcome them, for he who is IN YOU IS GREATER than he who is in the world.”

I have the greatest power in the entire world living inside of me. The Holy Spirit inside of us is far greater than demonic spirits in this world. This is the importance of the baptism in the Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit, the prayer language. Our spirit has the power to overcome every spirit of darkness.

Discussion Question:

Do you live every day with the awareness that the Holy Spirit in you is greater than anything coming against you? Why or why not?

9. Psalms 91:13—“You will tread on the lion and the adder.”

I can place my foot on Satan’s head. Satan is a “roaring lion.” It is an open, bold enemy. An adder is a secret, malignant enemy who speaks and acts in secret to destroy you. Daniel “tread on the lion.” Instead of roaring at Daniel, he heard a “Meow!”

Discussion Question:

What “lions” (obvious attacks) or “adders” (hidden attacks) have you faced? How do you discern and deal with each kind?

10. Romans 16:20—“The God of peace will SOON crush Satan under your feet.”

This battle will be over SOON. How long will this battle last? When will it be OVER? “I DON’T KNOW!” Until it is finished and Satan runs out of my circumstances, I trust that the God of peace will SOON crush Satan under my feet!”

Discussion Question:

How do you keep hope and faith alive when a battle feels long? What does it mean to trust that God will “soon” crush Satan under your feet?

Conclusion:

In every spiritual battle, God has given us authority, power, and divine protection to stand firm and overcome. When we walk by faith, declare His Word, and trust in the victory of the cross, the enemy is already defeated beneath our feet. No matter the battle, we are more than conquerors through Christ who is in us.
