Bgroup Lesson Part 2 of 3
Big Idea: Children are precious gifts from God entrusted to our care. We have the privilege and responsibility of guiding and teaching them during their formative years. Without our guidance, culture will attempt to fill the void.
Key Scripture: Proverbs 22:6 - Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.
Main Idea: We have a limited time to shape and nurture the hearts and minds of our children. Let's explore three crucial strategies for training our children while they are young.
Our children observe our character, behavior towards others, and the priority we give to faith. They don't just become the person we want them to be; they become the person we show them to be.
Question: How have you noticed your children modeling your behavior, whether good or bad?
Our children will emulate what they consume. As parents, especially while they are young, we have the opportunity to establish a foundation for their influence, what they will watch, and even who they will be friends with along the way.
Question: Share some ways in which you have both battled and set boundaries in your home with social media, teacher's influence, and friendships.
Our words carry significant weight. When we say "No" and enforce it, we teach our children the importance of boundaries in attitude and behavior. What we deem acceptable and required in our home will shape their future lives.
Question: Share a moment from your childhood when hearing the word "No" positively impacted your life.
Our most valuable gift to our children is our time and our genuine presence. In today's busy world, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing the positive outcomes of quality time with your children. While the world may seem daunting, God has equipped us with the tools and wisdom to raise champions for His kingdom. Challenge: Family time is invaluable. This week, set aside time to share a meal or play a game together as a family. You'll be glad you did!
