Let Your Light Shine

B-Group Lesson Part 9 of 9

Big Idea

We are called to be the light of the world. Each of us has been given a unique lamp through our personality and realm of influence to lead others to Christ and further the Kingdom of God.

Key Scriptures

  • John 8:12
  • Matthew 5:14

Main Point:

God has given each of us a unique calling to shine a light in the world. All are needed. We are not called to compete, but to complete one another.

  1. Apricot Soft Light: Warm - Affirming and comforting atmosphere; Can turn a house into a home
  2. Oven Light: Introverted - Loves to serve in the hidden place; Can take tremendous heat and keep shining, even under extreme pressure
  3. Crystal Chandelier Light: Great realm of influence - Businessman or woman, politician, lawyer
  4. Party Light: Fun - Always brings high energy
  5. Flashlight: Missional - Does not have to be attached to a certain place; Desires to meet and experience new cultures
  6. Spotlight: Prophetic - Sees the dust and is discerning; BOLDLY speaks truth
  7. Dark Room Light: Developer - Can turn blank sheets of paper into photographs; Can see beauty and motive in people that have been cast aside
  8. Weird Light: Individualistic - Thinks outside of the box and reaches people who may never see the light of Jesus

Discussion Question

What type of light are you? Perhaps you are a mixture.

Challenge:

This week, discover what type of light you are and allow God to use what is unique about you to share the gospel. As we cultivate our gifts and personalities, we can be better assets for the Body of Christ. In this way, we can bring ALL people into life, family, and purpose.
