People Who Change the World

B-Group Lesson Part 7 of 9

The Big Idea:

When our dream goes beyond ourselves it moves into the significance and our desire becomes one of fruitfulness. Jesus is looking for fruitful people. We become our most fruitful when we truly understand the heart of the Father.

Key Scripture: John 15:1-16 (NIV) I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

How we as people change the world:

1. Recognize the Father’s Heart

People who change the world ask God, “what is your heart?” When we listen to God's heart we begin to move towards the need.

Question Do you have a testimony of a time when God began to highlight something to you? A need in the community, with a neighbor, etc... How did that moment impact your life and the lives of others.

2. Remain in Christ

We can not try and change the world on our own. When we go with Jesus as the gift he begins to meet the need that we can never meet on our own.

Question: I have often felt the weight of helping others when I was leaning on myself.  When I am working with Jesus at the center I see His peace surrounding every need. Have you ever had a similar experience?

3. Remain in the Word

Jesus says don’t just remain in the word let the word remain in you. When we feel discouraged and face temptation, we must go back to the word of God. The way that we defeat Satan is by going back to the word of God.

Question: Do you have a chapter or verse in the Word impacting your life this season?

4. Remain in His love

When we begin to appreciate God's love for us we can feel confident in his word. Without God’s perfect love stepping out in faith will seem impossible.

Question: Do you have a testimony of God’s perfect love in action in your own life?

Challenge

As we enter the last three months of 2022 I believe the Lord desires for us to not only make a greater impact within our communities but to do so with the absolute assurance that he is with us and his desire is to commune with us and work through us. Let us remember his word is truth and we are loved fully by Him.
